One body, four questions
An echo, cut sideways across the seasons
One thread at a time, pulled sideways through the four seasons already told
Where Unravelling, Drifting, Seeding and Resonance each move forward through their own months, Echoes moves the other way, looking back across all four at once. Each essay follows one thing (the body, water, kinship, silence, the shape of a morning, a route, a voice) and asks what it was doing all along, underneath the four seasons that were too busy living it to notice. The essays share one subtitle, "An echo, cut sideways across the seasons", and the order below is simply the order they were written in.
