Welcome to The Art of Unravelling

A seasonal practice of rewilding, mourning and emergence where grief, kinship and wonder tangle and untangle.

2 March 2025 · Rowena Morrow

The Art of Unravelling is a slow, living exploration of grief, kinship, rewilding, and emergence. It moves through a year of seasons, each one asking something different of you: unravelling, drifting, seeding, resonance.

Across the seasons, we are sitting with a core question:

Who are you becoming, so whatever comes next, you can meet it well?

What this place holds

Like a mangrove seed riding the tide, we drift between worlds, sometimes floating, sometimes rooting, always sensing where the next ground might be.

That image has been a foundation, and it still holds, even though the place itself has grown. What began as four seasons has become several connected threads, each one offering different ground to land on, depending on what is calling you when you arrive.

The four seasons remain the heart of the practice. Season of Unravelling holds grief without rushing it toward growth, and hospices the old stories that no longer fit. Season of Drifting wanders without a map, learning to sense the edges of what is emerging. Season of Seeding identifies what wants to grow and offers small, coherent gestures into the field. Season of Resonance asks what truly resonates, in you and around you, and tends whatever is humming true.

Sitting alongside the four seasons is the Season of Echoes, the newest layer of this work. Where the seasons move forward through a year, the Echoes cut sideways across them, following a single thread (the body, water, silence, the dead, the walk home) through all four seasons at once. An echo is not a repetition. It returns changed, carrying something the first telling could not show you. If you have already walked through Unravelling, Drifting, Seeding, and Resonance, the Echoes are an invitation to walk them again, differently, and notice what only becomes visible on the second pass.

A way in

With this many threads now, it helps to know where to start.

If grief is close right now, start with Season of Unravelling. It does not ask you to feel better. It asks you to stay.

If you are in the unmapped middle of something, between an old shape and a new one that hasn’t arrived yet, Season of Drifting will meet you there.

If something small wants to be offered into the world, a practice, a gesture, a beginning you are not yet sure of, Season of Seeding is the place for it.

If you are trying to sense what is true, in yourself or in the systems around you, Season of Resonance holds that work.

If you have already walked the seasons once and want to return with older eyes, the Season of Echoes will take you back through, sideways.

You don’t need to start at the beginning, and you don’t need to read everything in order. Each piece stands on its own. Follow whatever thread is already pulling at you, and see where it leads.
