Not with certainty and not with solutions but with seed sacks full of half-formed offerings and cracked-open questions. This is the Season of Seeding - a quiet but potent turn in our shared journey through The Art of Unravelling.
If the first season loosened the threads, and the second taught us to float in uncertainty, this one brings us gently back to the ground - not to fruit, but to begin again. To feel for soil, to choose what we carry forward and to seed carefully in the presence of grief, delusion, exhaustion, and possibility.
Where we are in the arc
This seasonal practice began with a simple idea: that growth is not linear, and that personal and collective change unfolds more like an ecosystem than a productivity plan.
Each season has followed a phase of the living cycle:
Season 1 – The Season of Unravelling - Letting go, making space, grieving illusions
Season 2 – The Season of Drifting - Floating, composting, learning to pause and not-know
Season 3 – The Season of Seeding (now) - Touching ground, discerning what we carry, choosing how we begin again
Season 4 - The Season of Resonance - Finding coherence, resonance and connection.
We are not rushing; we are not rebuilding. We are listening for what still breathes and beginning to root it.
What this season is (and isn’t)
This is a season of emergence, not performance. We will tend, not scale. We hold to stay in relationship: to ourselves, to others, and to the world as it actually is.
We still have to chop wood - to deal with broken systems and people who don’t get it but we get to choose what seed we carry while we do.
We will not use this season to float off into poetic delusion or safe, inward sanctuaries. We will stay grounded, curious, and in conversation with reality.
A candle-lighting to begin
Before you move into this season, take a moment to light a candle.
This small gesture echoes the Celtic traditions of Brigid, goddess of hearth, healing, and poetry and protector of those who tend the flame in uncertain times.
In the ancient Celtic calendar, Imbolc (early February) marked the first stirrings of spring, not its fullness, but its subtle beginnings. Seeds awakening underground. Fire returning to the hearth. A time of quiet tending.
Let this candle mark your own Imbolc, wherever and whenever you are.
As I light this flame, I enter the Season of Seeding.
I do not rush.
I listen.
I carry what is still alive.
And I offer what I can, even in uncertainty.
Take a breath.
Feel the warmth.
Begin.
How this season works
This season unfolds over three months, each holding a theme in the arc of seeding:
Month 1 - Landfall - What are we carrying? What has survived the drift?
Month 2 - The cracked shell - What wants to emerge, even if it feels vulnerable or unclear?
Month 3 - Root and reach - What supports us to grow slowly, relationally, and in season?
The 12-Week Journey
Each month follows a gentle four-week rhythm. You can follow along week by week, or drop in wherever the season calls you.
Throughout this season, you’ll find practices designed to companion your journey. Some are embedded in the weekly posts, others are available as downloadable resources.
These practices are optional companions, not requirements so please use what serves you and leave what doesn’t.
MONTH 1: LANDFALL
Week 1: Welcome to the Season of Seeding
The Drift comes to an end, so we pause in front of the Hearth while we contemplate.
Week 2: Listening to the soil
Reflection and orientation. What is the ground beneath us carrying?
Practice: Tend Your Soil (A practice of inner field mapping)
Week 3: One thing
Tiny offerings, rooted in presence. What small act restores relationship?
Practice Card: One Thing
Week 4: Opening the Seed Sack
Discernment and inner listening. What are we carrying, what’s alive, what needs to compost?
Practice Journal: The Seed Sack Inventory
MONTH 2: THE CRACKED SHELL
Week 5: The ‘No’ that cracked something open
When rejection becomes recalibration. What did a closed door reveal?
Week 6: Imperfect offerings
Let something unready be seen. What wants to be witnessed, even if incomplete?
Practice: Gentle Imperfect Offering
Week 7: Holding the seed
Adjacent fields, almost-fits, better questions. What connects to this seed?
Week 8: The Hearth is open
Collective digestion, cracked-shell surprises, idea echolocation.
MONTH 3: ROOT AND REACH
Week 9: Roots remember
Subterranean belonging, the village, the ground we stand on.
Practice: Roots Remember
Week 10: Slow reach
Deepening the rhythm of offering. From tiny offerings to tending rhythm.
Week 11: Kinship in the long arc
Less, longer. Practising the work of regeneration.
Week 12: The end of the Season of Seeding
Endings as beginnings. Which seeds are planting you?
Tending your own hearth
Hearth: A decentralised space of digestion, warmth, and slow witnessing
We close around the hearth which is not one single fire, but a constellation of small hearths lit across time zones, kitchens, notebooks, and backyards. You don’t need to gather live with others (though you can). The invitation is to create your own hearth space through a moment of shared attention, reflection, and offering, even if only with yourself.
This could look like:
Inviting one or two friends into a reflective check-in
Holding a solo ritual: candle, journal, voice memo, walk
Leaving a comment or post in shared space (if available)
Offering your “hearth scrap” (a question, fragment, or insight) into the collective compost
Hearth doesn’t mean heat. It means presence. It means sitting with what you’ve gathered this month not to finalise it, but to feel its warmth and weight.
You don’t need to share publicly but you are not alone, others are tending too in their own quiet corners.
Optional Hearth Ritual
Light a candle (real or imagined)
Speak aloud: “This is what I’ve carried this month…”
Place something physical beside you: a rock, page, object
Ask: What do I want to offer, witness, or simply name before the month turns?
Blow out the candle slowly - mark the composting, not the conclusion
How to travel this season
There’s no right way to participate. You might:
Follow along with a post each week, journal quietly, and say nothing out loud
Share thoughts, questions, or offerings in the comments or gatherings
Join a hearth circle or community thread or just read and digest
Drift out for a week and return without apology
The invitation is to stay in rhythm, in relationship, and in realness. This is not a season for fantasy, it’s a season for faithful emergence.

Grounding Commitment
We do not leave the world to seed a new one.
We seed within it.
With grief in one hand and hope in the other.
The Art of Unravelling is offered as a gift, sustained by those who feel called to support the weaving. If you’d like to help tend the fabric of this work, you can contribute via the link below.
